Connect Serial Terminal (Console Access)

Allow remote specialists to operate your local Terminal.

This article focuses on connecting Serial cables (RS232 or USB-A with OTG-adapter) from a Bifrost Unit to the target device. This explains step 2 in the Onsite Step Guide for handling Console Access scenarios.

For a general introduction on enabling a session, please refer to the Onsite Step Guide.

See BifrostConnect Requirements documentation for info on cable quality.

Serial Terminal Connection Guide (Onsite Illustrations)

The ports for connecting Serial Tunnel cables are located on both sides of the Bifrost Unit and marked as Port E, marked in purple, or Port A, marked in blue. You only have to use one of the ports depending on the connection on your Target Device.

Enable a Console Access by connecting a Serial cable between the Bifrost and the Target Device.
